Get to know your pastors and ministry staff

We wanted to give you an opportunity to know us a little better – what makes us “tick”…the things that inspire us, the things we enjoy and quite frankly – to have a little fun!

The only rule was this…no “Sunday School answers allowed!”  “Jesus!” and “The Bible!” are the “right answers” shouted by well intentioned children.  Every pastor lists “The Bible” as their favorite book and “Jesus” as the person they most want to spend a day with.  We know. We get it. We’re having fun now.  Its OK.

Brad Hoganson, Senior Pastor

Spouse: Traci
Kids: Shea and Camden
Book(s) that are currently on the nightstand: Currently there are no books on the nightstand because I don't read before falling asleep!  I just finished reading "Radical Reformission" by Mark Driscoll and I am about to listen to the audio book "Forgotten God " by Francis Chan.  (check out www.christianaudio.com for a free audiobook each month)
Currently on the iPod:  David Crowder, Chris Tomlin, Billy Joel .. and "Stuff Christians Like"
Last movie seen in a theater:  Karate Kid 2!  Go ahead and make fun but everyone needs a little Karate Kid in their life.  I have to admit I was confused about the title since it was all about kung fu and not karate.  Maybe Kung-Fu Kid just isn't a good title.
Movie I refuse to watch:  I don’t know why but I refuse to watch “ET”, “Turner and Hooch” and “The Sound of Music”
Things that make me smile: Food...you need to try a hot pastrami at Barney's on Evergreen Way in Everett!  I love to watch people do what they are good at and I love spending time with friends and family!
Favorite Scripture: Colossians 2:13-15  “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.  And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”

Brian Dixen, Youth Pastor

Last movie seen in a theater: I hate to admit this but “Mama Mia!”…Sarah made me!
Movie I refuse to watch: Mama Mia!!!
Things that make me smile: catching my wife watching “Water World” or singing along to Tracy Chapman or Celine Dion
Favorite Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7  “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”
